Our Story

Built for Organizations

That Matter

Fostering Strategies was built from a lived understanding that stories shape how people see the world—and who they choose to listen to.

Our founder, Kent Foster, was shaped by two distinct and deeply personal histories. His mother fled her home during a civil war. His father shared stories of life in the segregated South. Those experiences shaped an early awareness of how systems can fail—and how visibility, narrative, and access can determine what gets understood, supported, or ignored.

While studying at San Francisco State University, Kent saw the growing power of social media to influence culture and public perception. He began using digital platforms to elevate the voices of justice-impacted individuals—work that would eventually lead to the founding of Fostering Strategies.

Today, that foundation continues to guide everything we do. We partner with organizations working at the intersection of culture, policy, community, and systems change—helping them navigate a digital landscape where attention is limited and credibility matters. Our approach blends strategy, storytelling, and cultural fluency to ensure our partners don’t just show up online, but show up in ways that are clear, relevant, and trusted.

Fostering Strategies exists to help mission-driven organizations cut through the noise, connect with the audiences that matter, and build a digital presence that reflects both their values and their impact.
